Glimpse of Nepal & Bhutan

The Combination of Nepal tour and Bhutan tour will indeed be one of one of the memorable experience of your lifetime. This trip to Nepal and Bhutan starts from Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal, where you will visit the largest stupa complex, holiest temple, and the beautiful Durbar Squares and experience a unique culture. You will then fly to Bhutan. The country of Thunder Dragons which has largely remained untouched from the rest of the world in its pristine state, unspoiled by outside influences. Bhutan is a country of many surprises where chilies are served as the main dish and giant protective penis painted at the entrance of many houses. Visit various Dzongs and monasteries in Paro & capital Thimphu. Visit various tourist attractions in the capital of Thimpu enjoy the fresh air during your ride to Punakha, visit the largest Punakha Dzong and the famous Taktsang Monastery "Tiger's Nest". You will then fly back to Kathmandu and complete this tour. We have many surprises when you are back to Kathmandu. Don’t miss some of the optional activities in Kathmandu that we have for you.

DAY 01

Day 01: Arrival - Kathmandu

Arrive in Kathmandu. Meeting and assistance at the airport and transfer to the hotel.

DAY 02

Day 02: Kathmandu

Morning, sightseeing tour of sacred Hindu temple of Pashupatinath. It is one of the most important temple on the subcontinent and draws devotees from all over India, including many colorful Sadhus (those wandering ascetic Hindu holy men). Continue on to Boudhanath Stupa. It is the largest stupa in Nepal and one of the largest in the world. It is the sacred place for Buddhist pilgrims. Once you enter the stupa complex it resembles Bharkor street of Tibet.

Afternoon, sightseeing tour of Patan Durbar Square. This city is also known as “City of Beauty”. Patan has a long Buddhist history. Patan’s central Durbar Square is packed with temples. Numerous other temples of widely diverse style, as well as many bahals (Buddhist Monasteries), are scattered around the fascinating old town.

DAY 03

Day 03: Kathmandu - Paro - Thimpu (2,350m)

Morning, fly to Paro . Upon arrival in Paro you will be met at Paro by our representative. After lunch, sightseeing tour in Paro including the visit of Paro Dzong and National museum. Later drive to Thimpu, capital city of Bhutan.

DAY 04

Day 04: Thimpu - Punakha (1300m)

After breakfast, visit mini zoo and, Changzangkha Lhakhang. Later, drive over Dochu-La pass (3,100m), which on clear day will offer incredible Himalayas views before descending into Punakha valley (77 kms/3 hrs drive).Later, tour of Punakha Dzong.

DAY 05

Day 05: Punakha - Thimpu

Morning, visit Wangdue Dzong Ruines from outside. Later, drive to Thimpu via Dochu-la pass. Lunch at Dochu-la pass. In Thimpu, visit National Memorial Chorten. Other site visit includes School for Arts and Crafts where students are taught 13 types of Bhutanese art, the National Library housing the collection of Bhutanese scripture dating back to 8th century.

DAY 06

Day 06: Thimpu - Paro

After breakfast, drive to Paro. Later, hike to Taktsang Monastery. The trail is board and walk of approx.2 hrs will take you kilometer above the Paro valley (for those who cannot walk we will arrange horse to transfer up to the viewing point). On the return back to Paro visit 7th century Kyichu Lakhang. Evening, walk around the town for shopping.

DAY 07

Day 07: Paro - Kathmandu

After breakfast, transfer to the Paro airport and fly back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day is free.

DAY 08

Day 08: Kathmandu

After breakfast, half day tour of Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Bhaktapur also known as ‘Bhadgaon’ is the third largest town in the valley. The stone embedded street links a string of temples, monastery, courtyards and monumental squares. You will quickly notice how vibrant the town’s cultural life is with strong communities of potters, woodcarvers and weavers.

Rest of the day is free for personal activities/shopping.

DAY 09

Day 09: Kathmandu - Departure

Free till departure. Transfer to the airport in time to connect your onward flight.
